In 2008/2009/2010 there will/have been/be NINE premier signal events:

Signal Camp of Instruction at Fort McAllister, Georgia, March 8th and 9th 2008 at the Fort McAllister State Park. THIS WAS A GREAT SUCCESS
WITH WONDERFUL SUPPORT FROM THE PARK STAFF. Groups wishing to participate in the 2010 Camp of Instruction should contact
Danny at the park. While we were there Danny found a Union breastplate and a 32 pound cannon ball.
This site is truly of the great ones to work on and with. IT IS VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. The bombproof quarters must be seen. Amazing. The OVCWA will be conducting a Camp of Instruction spring (March 5th and 6th) of 2010 at the fort. Fort McAllister is to be the subject of the
Signal Corps 150th birthday painting see: SCRA, is pleased to announce the commissioning
of a painting by Don Troiani.
In honor of the 150th Anniversary of the Signal Corps, the original painting will be presented to the Chief of Signal for display in our branch museum.

Signal Camp of Instruction at Stones River Battlefield May 3rd and 4th, 2008: This was
in conjunction with the staff and volunteers of:

Stones River National Battlefield, and the 35th Indiana. This is on again for this year and the year after (2009 and 2011).
Some photos of the Stones River School of Instruction and other activities can be seen here.

All of the Camps of Instruction are open to the public for viewing and will also include the Infantry, both volunteer and Regular, the
Sharpshooters, Artillery, medical and Ladies of the Civil War presentations and living history.

We added a Camp of Instruction at the General Lew Wallace study and museum in Crawfordsville, Indiana.
This was July 12th and 13th of 2008 and was well received by the students and the public. The next Camp of Instruction at the Lew Wallace Museum was: July 11-12, 2009.
There will be another one in 2010.

Another Camp of Instruction has been conducted at Stones River NBF the first weekend of October, 2008 and in the Sring of 2009. This coincided with the delivery of the Beardslee equipment to the Stones River NBF interactive program for both Stones River and Fort Rosecrans. A full weekend of training was done and the volunteer staff of Stones River NBF and Kennesaw NBF now have the Flying Telegraph. They are also very good flagmen. Do stop by Stones River if and when you get a chance. The next Camp of Instruction at Stone River was May 2-3, 2009. Check with the Stone River NBF for Fort Rosecran's and Stone River Signal and Telegraph weekend demonstrations. They will be frequent. We will be doing another Camp of Instruction in 2011.
